Installation Guide

Materials Needed for Small Decals:

  • Patience!
  • Small squeegee, credit card or your fingers
  • Cleaning cloth
  • Rubbing alcohol or glass cleaner (optional)
  • Masking tape (optional)

Steps:

  1. Prepare the Surface:

    • Clean the surface with a cleaning cloth and rubbing alcohol or glass cleaner to remove any dust, dirt, or grease.
    • Ensure the surface is completely dry before proceeding.
  2. Position the Decal:

    • Carefully place the decal (with the transfer tape still attached) on the surface to determine the desired placement.
    • Use masking tape to secure the decal temporarily at the edges, if necessary.
  3. Peel the Backing Paper:

    • Slowly peel away the backing paper, ensuring the decal sticks to the transparent transfer tape.
  4. Apply the Decal:

    • Align the decal and place the transfer tape with the attached decal onto the surface.
    • Start pressing it down from the center, smoothing outwards to prevent air bubbles.
  5. Smooth the Decal:

    • Use a squeegee or credit card to firmly press the decal, ensuring all areas adhere to the surface.
  6. Remove the Transfer Tape:

    • Gently peel away the transfer tape at a 45-degree angle.
    • Take your time to avoid lifting the decal itself.
  7. Final Touch:

    • If bubbles remain, smooth them out with a squeegee or pop them with a pin and press gently.

Your decal is now applied and ready to display!

Materials Needed for Large Decals:

  • A lot of patience!!!
  • Squeegee
  • Spray bottle with water and a few drops of dish soap
  • Cleaning cloth
  • Rubbing alcohol or glass cleaner (optional)
  • Masking tape (optional)
  • 2 people recommended

Steps for Applying a Large Decal with Soapy Water:

  1. Clean the Surface:

    • As with smaller decals, clean the surface thoroughly using rubbing alcohol or glass cleaner to remove dirt, grease, and debris.
    • Ensure it is dry before proceeding.
  2. Prepare the Soapy Water:

    • Fill a spray bottle with water and add 2–3 drops of dish soap. Shake gently to mix.
  3. Position the Decal:

    • Place the decal on the surface (with backing paper still attached) to determine its placement.
    • Use masking tape to create a hinge by securing one edge of the decal to the surface. This helps keep it aligned during application.
  4. Spray the Surface with Soapy Water:

    • Spray the soapy water generously on the surface where the decal will be applied. This allows you to reposition the decal if needed.
  5. Peel the Backing Paper:

    • Carefully peel away the backing paper, ensuring the decal stays attached to the transparent transfer tape.
  6. Place the Decal:

    • Lay the decal onto the wet surface, starting at the hinged edge. The soapy water lets you slide and adjust the decal into the perfect position.
  7. Smooth the Decal:

    • Use a squeegee or credit card to firmly press the decal onto the surface. Start at the center and work outward to push out excess water and air bubbles.
    • Reapply soapy water to the outside of the transfer tape to help the squeegee glide smoothly.
  8. Allow to Dry:

    • Let the decal sit for 10–30 minutes to allow the water to evaporate, ensuring the adhesive bonds to the surface.
  9. Remove the Transfer Tape:

    • Slowly peel off the transfer tape at a 45-degree angle. If the decal lifts, press it back down and wait a little longer.
  10. Final Adjustments:

  • Use the squeegee to remove any remaining air bubbles or water pockets. For stubborn bubbles, gently pop them with a pin and smooth out the area.

Using soapy water makes handling large decals much easier and ensures a smooth, bubble-free finish!
